Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills, staining) in one go without the need to change devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its affordable price, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can cleans up a mess and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you choose the type of cleaning you want for each room.
For instance, you could choose to have the robot clean up the living and kitchen areas but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models can't. The only problem is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will reveal precisely what the robot has accomplished, where it's going, and which obstacles he has run into or avoided.
The docking station features a handy LCD screen that shows the need for maintenance for cleaning up debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, prior to having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you see all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop is the most recent version. Unlike last year's model this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pull up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could overlook.
This Roborock model, just like the other two I tried, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating dual cameras that can detect objects, determining whether they are walls or other surfaces. It will then automatically alter its path and clean them without skipping a beat.
It's the most expensive model I've tried and it comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.
The only drawback I could find with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life. You'll need to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its clever design permits customised and efficient cleaning while saving you time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum removes dry debris, including pet hair and crumbs. It has a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without using a pad. In addition the X40 is quiet in operation, only producing occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.

The app is user-friendly and simple to use and the X40's intelligent features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, see floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features which make it a good choice for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads and refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It also can detect if the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive available, but it packs in a lot of extra features that distinguish it from. robot vacuums best are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and small dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

It's heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list - at 4kg however it's not overly heavy, and it is sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature which is a nice feature.
